Scaleform Ships GFx 3.0
Performance, productivity improvements spur adoption by major publishers and developers

GREENBELT, MD, USA – July 1, 2009 – Scaleform® Corporation (Scaleform), the worldwide leader in interactive entertainment middleware and user interface (UI) engines for video games, today announced that Scaleform GFx™ 3.0 has shipped. Scaleform GFx 3.0 is a major release that not only adds performance enhancements to GFx, but also introduces new productivity tools to speed the creation and optimization of UI elements, including an all-new memory system, analyzer for memory and performance (AMP™) and CLIK™ component framework.

Scaleform GFx 3.0 allows programmers to focus on creating the highest quality gameplay rather than building time-consuming custom tools, and provides artists and designers the fastest way to create powerful and immersive user interface environments with optimized performance and proven return on investment. Scaleform GFx 3.0 has been adopted by some of the world's leading publishers including Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, Take 2 Games, Sony, Ubisoft and Square Enix, and by leading developers such as Bethesda Softworks, CCP, Double Fine, Raven Software, Frontier Development, Neowiz and Dimps Corporation.

"GFx 3.0 delivers amazing performance and productivity that bridge the gap between art and engineering in UIs, interactive textures and video tools," said Rick Raymo, director of game content for Saber Interactive. "The Scaleform AMP tool makes it easy to spot heavy graphics or poorly performing script, and CLIK enables our artists to rapidly create optimized UI right out of the box. With our new graphics and physics-intensive, multiplatform Saber3D v.S4 engine, we would normally have to build optimization tools for middleware, but Scaleform is easy; GFx 3.0 is a total no brainer and big step forward."

"Scaleform GFx 3.0 enables development teams to fully explore all creative options and focus on making the best end user experience possible," said Brendan Iribe, president and CEO of Scaleform. "Scaleform has optimized a development pipeline that enables the use of the Adobe® Flash® tool chain for the rigorous requirements of cross platform console and PC game development. GFx 3.0 has taken Flash UI development to a new level."

Details on the innovations introduced in Scaleform GFx 3.0, as well as more information on Scaleform Video, Scaleform IME ("Input Method Editor") and tighter game engine integration with Epic Unreal® Engine 3, Emergent Gamebryo® LightSpeed™ and Crytek CryENGINE™ 2 can be found at the Scaleform website .
